COMBINED SESSIONS - ADULT and HIGH SCHOOL ART CLASSES

(W3) “Intermediate Portrait Drawing/Painting” for adults and high school, Instructor: Mark Mahoney
Fridays, January, 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
We will be combining live models, photos and other references to learn and practice aspects of portrait drawing and painting. Bring the supplies you have and currently use to the first class. Basic supplies will be provided. There will be some light homework assignments to be completed between classes. Each class will cover a different focus starting with art materials and showing form, demonstration of 4 starting portrait methods, color/chroma flesh tones, value control, etc.  Each week is a chance to experiment with materials, concepts, and approaches. Provide each student with individual guidance.  Class will focus on the goals of each student in their artistic journey.  Then through decisions on concept, composition, drawing, approach, technique, and degree of finish, help the student to advance their fine art abilities.
